Recovery Console - Installing by default

The Recovery Console's been a great lifesaver lots of times, and there's been almost as many times when it COULD have been a lifesaver if it had only been installed :P
Would be nice if Vista setup installed the Recovery Console along with the OS, or even better, the PE, and informed the user of the potential last-resort rescue it provides.

I think the Recovery Console has been significantly upgraded to be based on the Windows Preinstallation Environment, so when you boot off the Vista DVD to do a repair or recovery you go into a graphical interface. I have not messed with it but it should be very easy to use simply because of the graphical approach to doing recovery.
Its not complete, since its part of the install routine, which is not complete. Check back on this in the Febuary CTP which should be a feature complete build presenting a rough feel of such features. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Adahn" wrote in message

yes..maybe the Safe Mode option will now boot into the PE, or the PE would be available as a separate option?
Eitherway, hope there's a better recovery system installed by default.
